Summer sewing

I haven't been doing any sewing lately. My sewing machine taunts me from the dining room table. I am really missing it and need to start making something.   What makes every woman feel better???  SHOPPING!!!

I have not been out at the shops, the mountain buggy has a flat tyre and Harry has worked out that it is way more fun to run than walk,so shopping with two kids is a fate worse than death at the moment. I have been shopping from the comfort of my office...... oops don't tell my boss that.

What have I been buying? PATTERNS!

I held off buying the last lot of 'new' Oliver and S patterns. They didn't really blow me away and with them being released as we in Australia are going into winter, summer dresses weren't on the top of my hit list.  With summer approaching (my MIL tells me it is going to be 28 degrees on Saturday) I bit the bullet and bought them.

Don't you just think of long socks and sweat bands when you see these shorts!

Now, here is the bargain part.  These patterns are usually $US15.95 - you generally can't get them cheaper than that. I bought them from fabric.com - they were already discounted to $12.76 each.      There is a website called retailmenot.com that if you put in the store you are buying from, lets you know if there are any coupons. There was one for fabric.com - spend over $40.00, get another 15% off. I bought another O+S pattern - one that I already have, but in the larger size and the whole lot including shipping cost $US47.33. 

Those in Australia will know that fabric.com is a killer when it comes to shipping charges - turns out for patterns they are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP - $3.95 to ship 4 patterns. BARGAIN!
